India 2016 Day 5

Day 5

Feeling: Instagram crazy, nervous, grateful

Today started out with mum taking us to two mandirs (temples) early in the morning. It was quite peaceful, and I saw an absolutely gross lake right next to some path/forrest-y place that turned out to be an amazing picture!
Nothing can live here - saw a duck tho...

Add a filter and this place seems haunted, 90 degrees left from the gross lake
Next, the extended family went to a resort (Nimah it was called, I believe) for some lunch and chill hangs. This place gave me plenty of instagram worthy images and you can find some of them below. In true Indian form, the kids played cricket, we hung out with all the cousins, especially the cutest youngest one who was hilarious. Ate sooo much food, played some fun games, won prizes, then ate more food. Desserts that were vegetarian and eggless was probably the best part haha!

Virgin Margherita, so delicious!

After getting home, we were truly exhausted. Tbh I cannot remember exactly what happened next, but I believe that at some point we went back to my aunt's house from dad's side (long 4hr drive again) and then went last minute shopping. Although I also feel like somehow we would have driven back the next day which would be India 2016 Day 6 (though I only remember going to India for 5 days...so this is slightly confusing).

Regardless,  we spent some quality family time with just mum dad, my sis and I and this felt like a real holiday as we just explored India a bit on our own. We ate some Burger King, bought shoes and went back home in time to pack and prepare for my flight back.

I was surely very nervous about the flight alone, but we ended up buying some travel sickness medicine last minute (kudos to my amazing cousins again) and then I took 3 flights till I was back home.

2 amazing friends picked me up from the airport and hung out with me for the first day, after which I simply relaxed and recovered from the jet lag. Overall amazing trip though I definitely wish I could have stayed longer. Unfortunately my cousins too don't live at home anymore so I wouldn't have been able to hang with them any more. That's the only sad part. Living alone for a month was exciting and nerve wracking at the same time, but it wasn't bad at all seeing as I spoke with family pretty much every day anyways.
