Only my last post was about holidays, and from this week, its my end of term 1 hols already!
This first term, has been hectic, fun in some aspects but definitely very stressing.
My subjects include - HL maths, Chem, Physics, Economics, English and Hindi.
I get 2 free lines, one for Hindi as it is out of school times (thurdays 5-8 gosh these are sooo annoying, fun classes, the people are amazing but I can not think afterwards) and my other free will turn into TOK (Theory of Knowledge next sem...)
HL Maths was downright hard and horrible (i did badly), Chem was okay, but only due to Pre-IB chem last year. Physics was comparatively heaps better but I HATE UNCERTAINTIES! They come with any of the sciences you might choose.
Honestly, if ur reading this and want to do IB, you better be 100% accurate with uncertainties at all time. The concept is fine and easy to understand, just the application of it in a prac report frustrates me.
I now regret doing Hindi, as it seems that a Continuers language is a lot more demanding that you would expect. The language is extremely difficult, and you are expected to write an essay on books in one of the end exams! That is not what i signed up for. I would have rather done Spanish Ab Initio...
English isn't so bad this year actually, I mean sure I still don't get as much as I would like to, but its manageable.
Getting my Creativity Action and Service (CAS) hours is the most interesting and actually 'FUN' thing in this whole IB diploma. A certain requirement is doing a CAS project, and at the moment I am doing two.
1) Performing a Bollywood Dance along with 2 others on Glenunga's Talent Show!
Okay, this is probably going to be terrifying, but at the moment its really fun! Even if we aren't the best, it is a whole lot of fun.
2) A friend came up with the idea of putting on a play all by ourselves. Its got a lot of work invloved, but we also have the whole year to rehearse, and get it down pact. Hopefully this works out, if it does, it will be one heck of a crazy play! I'm playing the role of the Wise Wizard.
All in all, its really scary to think that I only really have about 7 terms of IB and 1 is gone already! I don't even feel like I know the stuff we've studied that well... and the EE and Group 4 Project really sound horrible to me at the moment.
This is because, my family is planning on going to India at the end of this year, but we arent getting tickets, everytime we do, dad comes home and asks me what I'll miss out, from school and when he goes back, the dates have been pushed to closer to my exams.
I found out that after exam week, the 2 remaining weeks of school are basically for Group 4 project and if I do an EE in science. Unfortunately, I will have to get results etc etc some other time, preferably before I leave so that I can work on them in India (It's not like im gonna have stuff to do there all the time! Probs just a week of traveling, rest just being around family, relatives and old friends)
P.S its the holidays now, so I will be posting a bit more frequently now... to catch up on all the things that have happened!

Oh my god IB sounds so hard. I'm glad that here I don't have to do a language for my A-Levels (IB equivalent) because I'm really bad at all the foreign languages I've ever studied.
ReplyDeleteI hope ur doing well, and not stressing over there!
DeleteIB isn't all bad... the key is choosing subjects you know ur good at (and not doing HL maths unless u BADLY want engineering or are fantastic at it).
And I completely forgot to mention Economics, which is really logical, and that what makes it easier, fun and really interesting!
