Hey guys! How are you all doing? Good, I hope.
Also, I really hope your not suffering from fever, feeling warm/cold interchangeably every 2 minutes, with random jots of pain throughout your body and lets not forget the headaches.
That only happened for about 3 days but it was absolutely horrendous. A brilliant way to start the holidays as it started from the last day of school, so as you can see the sickness didn't want to waste a single moment.
Anyways, I have been in a pretty bad mood lately. Here are the reasons why -
1) I alone, have cleaned the majority of the house spread over 3 days and it was not fun at all. Yes, I HAD to do it, as no one else was. And it really frustrated me to note that I am literally the only one who does it, except for my mum who does...usually...just not this time. And then everyone goes about ruining everything as if this is a pig sty and not a house.
2) A friend, lent books to us (even though i didn't want them, but I couldn't say no...) and I was going to return them but she told me to drop them off later when she comes back from her vacation. It has been over a month and she sent 3 e-mails telling us she was back and would like them. Firstly we completely lost one of them... and I only found them when mass cleaning the house. Now that I have found them, mum wont drive over to return them! She knows how serious this is, but she always jsut says "We'll see". The lady need the frikken book already! She's doing a Children's Program and she specifically needed that particular book! I don't know what my mum doesn't understand - she even went to shops with my sister, but didnt return the frikken books. As you can see, it frustrates me to unstableness of my mind.
On the bright side, I read the book "The Outsider" by Albert Camus. It is also known as "The Stranger" and this variation is due to this book being a translation, from the french version. It started of quite boring actually, and the first sentence itself is "Mother died today." and the second is - "Or maybe yesterday, I don't know." What a brilliant start, right? I won't give it away although it was interesting, despite being quite serious.
One of the themes that you come across is about how Society expects you to behave, or act in certain situations. The protagonist doesn't show much emotion at all, nt even at his mother's death, where he doesn't even 'pay his respects at the grave' or look at her body, in the coffin. Later, in court (he's in court for a reason that I am not going to give away, in case u plan on reading the book) his lawyer doesn't blatantly tell him to say certain things but on many occasions it can be seen that her speaks the truth, and that costs him dearly. He is charged guilty, because he truly is, however he doesn't see a wrong in what he did.
I can see the wrong in what he did, but also how he is being truthful in all he says. I suppose that's how we have been positioned, by the author, to sympathies with the protagonist but see both sides. I recommend it definitely!
P.S - What a record! I posted the very next day! (in some countries it may even be the same day!)1) I alone, have cleaned the majority of the house spread over 3 days and it was not fun at all.
